Throughout the Making Waves Festival weekend, there will be free activities at Irvine Harbourside and Beach Park. The activities will run from 11am to 4pm on both days, unless stated otherwise:

RAF Red Arrows Display (1pm on Saturday 23 July only)

Ayrshire Makers Market at the Scottish Maritime Museum

Open weekend at the Scottish Maritime Museum with free entry to Sea Monsters Exhibition and Family Fun Fair

Kelpie Macquettes outside the Maritime Museum Boatshop

Paddleboard flotilla up the river (11am on Saturday 23 July)

Paddleboarding try-out sessions (throughout Sunday 24 July)

Open weekend at Courtyard Studios with work from local artists

Crafts and drama sessions at the Harbour Arts Centre

Portable football pitch from K:A Leisure for small games

Climbing wall on the Harbourside

Fairground rides at the Beach Park

Wildlife tours and scavenger hunt with North Ayrshire Ranger Service

Mobile Youth Centre from North Ayrshire Youth Services

As well as the activities, you can visit the range of bars, restaurants and cafes along the Harbourside - some with extended hours. You can also explore the many paths and routes around our beautiful coastal setting.
